MUSLIM WOMAN DODGES JAIL TIME IN BURKA CONTROVERSY.
Since when can a person away with a crime after falsely they were racially profiled when in fact you can’t see this person’s face. Well, this happened in Australia when a Muslim woman was pulled over for not having the correct vehicle license plate. She claimed the police officer was racially profiling her and filed a complaint. The dash camera video shows the officer was in his rights to pull over the woman and to ask her for her identity. And the story gets better from there.
Sydney woman Carnita Matthews, 47, was jailed for six months in November last year after being found guilty of falsely claiming that a police officer had forcibly tried to remove her veil during a stop in Woodbine, southwest Sydney, in June 2010.
Video footage shown during the court case depicted the mother of seven dressed in a full facial veil arguing by the roadside with the police officer who stopped her.
She later filed a criminal complaint saying he had forced her to remove her attire, a complaint which was found by the courts to be false.
Ms Matthew’s conviction was quashed this week after NSW District Court judge Clive Jeffreys ruled that prosecution lawyers in the case failed to prove it was Ms Matthews who had filed the complaint, because the person who made it was also wearing a full-face veil and was never fully identified.
