Children of public figures should not be fodder for attacking parents. Yet the media has long been very selective in protecting SOME children and savaging others, based upon whether the child is the son or daughter of a Republican or a Democrat. Then VP Al Gore’s son was kicked out of the fancy St. Alban’s private school in DC for selling drugs, and convinced the media to cover it up. They were happy to oblige their liberal Democrat buddy.

But 19 year old Jenna Bush buying a drink at college with a fake id was big news! It even merited PEOPLE magazine coverage!!

And when David Letterman joked about Sarah Palin’s 14 year old daughter getting “knocked up” at a New York Yankees baseball game he didn’t issue a meager apology for 5 days, and was neither suspended nor fired by CBS. CLICK HERE.

Were the comments about the daughters out of line? Yes. But the selective outrage of the media when protecting some children and throwing others under the bus, backing it up and running over them again, is WORSE!
