VIDEO: HOSTESS BRANDS CLOSING DUE TO UNION LOCKOUT.

This is horrible, particularly right after they legalized recreational marijuana use in Colorado!!! But I am so pleased that the company chose not to cave to the union. Maybe other union members led into strikes by their union bosses will weigh whether it is worth losing their jobs to be union sheep.

(KDFW-TV) - IRVING, Texas - Say goodbye to your Twinkies.

North Texas-based Hostess Brands, Inc. has decided to go out of business and liquidate its assets after failing to win back striking workers.

The company posted a statement on a website set up specifically for people following the strike.

“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said Gregory F. Rayburn, chief executive officer. “Hostess Brands will move promptly to lay off most of its 18,500-member workforce and focus on selling its assets to the highest bidders.”

About one-third of the company’s workers are union members who are unhappy about the company’s cutbacks during its bankruptcy reorganization.

But problems with several unions — including the Bakery, Confectionery, and Tobacco workers and the Grain Millers International Union — have prevented the company from moving forward.

Hostess said it will seek bankruptcy court permission to sell all of its assets. The company said bakery production has already shut down.

Some of the brands’ products include Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho-Hos, Fruit Pies and Wonder Bread.

Video from WCPO-TV Cincinnati. Cry me a freaking river! Your union did this to you by refusing to negotiate with Hostess Brands. Now, will your union be paying for your unemployment benefits or help you find a new job? I doubt it.

The President’s war on capitalism is still working just like the socialists and communists wanted, the unions should be celebrating not crying.

Unions, over-regulation and government bloating will be the downfall of America.

Do you understand the difference between a strike and a lockout? It doesn’t seem so. The Hostess workers already took deep cuts twice with the promise that the money saved would be reinvested into the business. It was instead given to top brass as huge bonuses. Union is willing to negotiate, Hostess, planning this closure for at least a year now is using the union as a scape goat. This is how CEO’s get away with those massive bonuses from a failing company….blame it on the lowest paid workers. Please wake up to what’s really going on here.
